| | Ran 4 slow miles this morning with Stewart and his dog. A few hours later, when my side cramp went away, I ran 4 more at a faster pace. Splits for my second run are 7:31, 6:40, 6:04, and 5:50.
|
| | Ran just over eight with connor, stewart, collin and the twins this morning. We didn't really stop at all after the warm up so that was good. My side hurt throughout the run but I was able to push through. Splits: 7:12, 6:46, 6:40, 6:39, 6:35, 6:36, 6:33, 6:30.
|
| | 9 miles with the squad this morning, started off painfully slow at nearly an 8 minute mile pace for the first four miles. we all obviously wanted to go a little bit faster so the next five ranged from 6:27 to 7:01. I felt a little bit tired, but it was good to get some miles in.
|
| | I ran after school today with the team which was weird, 8 miles total including some 150 meter build ups that we did at the end. Average pace was 6:38/mile

| | Speed workout today. I ran a 1 mile warmup, the 15x300 meters with an easy 800 in between every set of 3. I was trying to hit around a 4:25-4:35 mile pace on each 300 so my times ranged from 49 to 52. 1.5 mile cool down after.

| | Easy 8 mile recovery run from yesterday with Sean, Conner, and Strrt. My legs were a little bit sore but I'll take that as a good thing. Average pace was a slow 7:10/mile.

| | Ran with Team Pre today on a decent 4 mile tempo run. We did 2 miles to warm up at about a 7:00 mile pace before running 4 straight in 5:48, 5:47, 5:39, and 5:46. We finished up nine back to the school with a three mile cooldown. Total average pace was 6:37.

| | I ran 3 miles with the team and then split off because my stomach hurt so bad (I had eaten at chuck-a-rama for lunch). I still got in 7 miles even though I felt like I weighed a thousand pounds. Average pace was 6:59.

| | I was unable to make it to the Utah State indoor meet today so I had to run 10 miles by myself. I ran 4 miles to the school from my house and did a quick 800, 400, and 2x200 at around mile pace. the 800 was in 2:25, 400 in 1:08, and the 200s in about 30. I finished with 5 miles back on the trail. Average pace was 6:29.

| | I only ran a 0.5 mile warm-up today before going inside for weights. 9 miles in the rain afterwards. I thought the pace was really slow (over 7:00/mile)but my homies were all still tired from Utah State and we'll hopefully do more speed this week so it's okay.

|
| | We ran a speed workout as a team today. It was 6x800 with my times at 2:35, 2:35, 2:33, 2:32, 2:34, and 2:40. None of them were as fast as I was hoping for (2 mile goal pace), but the last one especially because my stomach really started hurting. After that we just finished up our miles. I didn't have my watch so I don't know what the pace was, I assume it was nothing record-breaking though.

| | First technical day of Track conditioning at school. We ran some pickups for 5,4,3,2, and 1 minute intervals with 3 minutes at recovery pace in between. I was leading, and tried to keep the pace around 5:30 for the fast parts but the recovery was pretty darn slow. We did two miles before and about four miles after to end up at a total of 10. The slow-paced recovery was killing me so I finished with a 6:02 last mile but the overall average was 6:47.

| | We did a brief circuit workout with the team today before heading out to finish up our miles. My stomach still hurt a little bit but not as bad as yesterday so that's good. My average pace for the whole thing was 6:49/mile. Coach said we will start having a set pace for distance runs next week.

| | I felt ridiculously tired this morning for some reason and was barely able to make it out the door. I ran with Sean and Strrt this morning, The first few miles weren't very fast, and I felt sluggish (6:54, 6:52, 6:47). We decided to do a hill work out though and that woke me up. We ran up and down airport and did a grass loop for about 0.7 miles 5 times. Then I just ran back to the school for 8 total miles. Last 5: 6:22, 5:59, 5:58, 6:19, 6:29, Average pace was 6:27.

| | Just a standard distance run with strrt this morning. We ran 4.5 miles into AF and then turned around and went back. The first three miles were really slow, but once we warmed up a little things got faster, finishing at a 6:36 average pace. I still feel pretty sick but am glad that I could still have a good run. Splits were 7:19, 7:06, 6:54, 6:32, 6:30, 6:28, 6:17, 6:15, and 5:50.
Later, I biked just over six miles with some friends. It was easy enough, but I'll call it cross training.

| | Super slow 9 mile "prep" day for our speed workout tomorrow. For some reason it was really hard to breathe, hopefully I feel better soon. I forgot my watch so I don't really know what the pace was other than it was over 7:00/mile and felt slower than I should be going.

| | Speed workout after a 1 mile warmup. We did a 400, 600, and 200 at indoor goal mile pace and then did it again with only 30 seconds of rest in between each. My times were almost exactly the same for both sets at 67, 1:52, and 30. The 600s were slow and the 200s were fast, but all together it was a good workout. After that, we just had to finish up our miles; I kept a decent 6:44 pace for the whole thing. I am looking forward to being able to breath in the future though. Shout out to my boy @connorballer for beating me on the 600s today.

| | Just a standard distance run today: mile warm up at the school before running to the Timpanogos Temple and back. I was feeling pretty good, I could actually breath today so that was nice. We were supposed to keep a slow pace around 7:00/mile to "recover" from our fairly easy speed workout yesterday, It ended up being slightly faster (6:46 avg) but I didn't feel like we were pushing the pace at all. Hopefully tomorrow we can speed things up a little bit.

| | Just ten slow miles today to get in some distance without being too tired for BYU tomorrow. I did some strides and a few 200s, but other than that, my pace was a 7:10/mile average. I'm just running the 800 tomorrow and am not too worried about my time, but still hope to do my best.

| Race: |
BYU Indoor Invitational (0.497 Miles) 00:02:15 | | got there late and didn't have time to warm up at all. I just put on my spikes, stretched a little bit, and got in my heat to run. subsequently, it took a few laps for my body to wake up and by then the race was over. On the plus side, It will be easy to pr this saturday and it wasn't too terrible for my first 800 in two years. Also, I didn't finish my miles because I was lazy so that's too bad.

| | Standard distance run today, which means we tried to stay in our new pace range (6:10-6:45) the whole time. It wasn't too hard at all and I had a 6:17/mile average for the whole thing. We cruised on the last 3 especially, doing them in 17:49. It was a pretty good run, did some squats after just for fun.

| | Speed workout today was 5x500m at indoor 800 meter goal pace. This sounded really fast and somewhat impossible to me, and evidently it was as a result of severe stomach pain throughout the workout. I tried to hit 63 at the 400 meter mark and then hold it until the end; however, I ended up running a 64, 63, 65, 68, and 65 and felt like I was about to die the entire time. Coach told me to start keeping a log of what I eat, and I'll talk to my doctor about it when I go in for a physical next week. I have had fairly regular stomach pain since I started running, but it isn't usually as bad as it was today. I was literally no longer capable of running after the workout, so I just went home and finished up my miles at around nine o'clock when I was feeling better. splits for my night run were 6:58, 6:41, 6:47, 6:37, and 6:33.

| | I didn't have my watch today so I have no idea what pace we were going. Pretty sure it was over 7:00/mile (it was supposed to be) but I know that the last few were probably a little bit too fast. Connor's blog says 7:08 so I'll go with that, basically it was just an easy recovery day. My legs were really tired, and my stomach hurt a little bit, but overall it wasn't too bad.

Olympic Oval (0.497 Miles) 00:02:11 | | Raced at the oval today; I was pretty tired from the week and not expecting much from my races, but it turned out fairly well. I ran the 800 in 2:11, which is technically a PR but I am confident I can do better in two weeks at the distance challenge (goal is 2:08). I also ran the 3200 in around 10:30 but really wasn't quite feeling it today and hope to be in the sub-10 range once I can discipline myself to give a full effort. If nothing else, both races were good training and I was able to get in over 11 miles with various warm-ups and cool-downs as well. I'm looking forward to running the mile when I feel up to it!
Shout out to my boy Sean for pulling out a 2:02 today and congrats to Connor on his 9:51. Also Josh Ward gained some major respect on his ridiculous mile and two mile preformances. Checkout strrt and connor's insta for pics of team pre looking hot af...

| | Distance run today; didn't go very fast, but we're trying to stay somewhat fresh for our time trial tomorrow. I felt amazing and honestly enjoyed this run, which is something I thought I would never say about running 10 miles. Some pre-pubescent irrelevant children boosted their self-esteem (which I assume is cripplingly low) by yelling poorly thought out insults at us from the protection of their mommy's minivan. I was so glad that they felt secure inside of a metal box away from my fists, but it did lower my opinion of them just a little bit. Anyway, my splits were 6:57, 6:53, 6:54, 6:48, 6:59, 6:46, 6:56, 6:49, 6:39, and 6:36.

|
| | Ran 3.5 miles before doing a mile time trial with the team. Aaannnd... that's all I have to say about that, it was disappointing. 5.5 miles after at a 6:41 pace, some of the miles were way to fast for recovery but I was pissed.

| | Speed workout today on the track. I ran a mile warm up and then did 2x1000m, 2x800m, and 4x400m in 3:07, 3:10, 2:29, 2:29, 70, 71, 69, and 75. We were supposed to shoot for 3200 pace and only had 90 seconds rest between each one. I felt super tired for some reason and almost passed out during lunch; I got a few shots yesterday and it probably just wrecked my immune system. After the workout I just finished up 8 miles. More speed coming tomorrow, so low mileage today.

| | Mile warm-up, then ran to the cemetary (another mile) for a speed workout on a gradual incline. It wasn't quite a hill workout, but still significantly harder than if it were on flat ground. We did 4x(200,400,200) at goal mile pace uphill with active rest going back down. I felt pretty good and was able to push myself really hard so it was a great workout for me. I was super exhausted after, but should be ready for more speed tomorrow. Avg. pace including recovery and cool down was 6:51/mile.

| | Awesome speed workout today with 4x400m (mile pace, 2 min. rest), 6x200m (800 pace, 1 min. rest), and 4x100m (all out, 30 sec. rest). my times were all pretty good: 68, 67, 66, 66, 32, 31, 32, 31, 31, 31, and I didn't keep track of my 100 times. After several minutes of heavy breathing I was able to get on 5 more miles for a cool down at a 7:15/mile average. It was a pretty solid day and I'm looking forward to lots of upcoming PRs and 10 more miles tomorrow morning.
Speaking of things I'm looking forward to, shout out to my main girl Trin for asking me to Sweethearts tomorrow... and for being super hot. I probably should have tapered better for how hyped I'm planning on being tomorrow night. Jk, but I might for real take a GU before the dance.
Also shout out to strrt for finally getting asked, and to sean for having a gf, connor can also slay babes on occasion as well.

| | Long slow distance run today. 10.5 miles with Connor and we didn't stop the whole time, just kept pumping out 6:50s. I felt great and the weather was beautiful. I played an intense game of basketball immediately after so I'll call it cross training. #ballers |

|
| | Mile warmup, then we did some p90x type plyometric stuff with the team that was pretty short and easy. next was 8 more miles at our distance pace (ended up being a 6:27 avg) out into saratoga springs. It was super flat, but my stomach was hurting a little bit today so that made it harder to keep the pace moving. shout out to me, Thom, Strrt, and Sean for being the only ones who went all the way out even though we always start with like ten people. I have no idea where connor and brady went but I'll just assume he's lying on his blog. My splits were 6:51, 6:24, 6:26, 6:27, 6:29, 6:34, 6:23, and 6:03.

Adidas Energy Boost 2 Miles: 9.00 |

| | Today we did 12 x 1 minute pickups/Fartlek type run. We went around mile pace for most of them and had one person randomly surge each time to get the rest of us moving. It was a pretty good workout, but I ate way too many starbursts during lunch and ended up with a bad side cramp on the ninth one. It hurt really bad so I stopped and recovered for a few minutes before just running the last mile out at tempo pace (5:49). After that, I met up with every one else and ran back to the school at a 6:50ish pace. Later, I ran a mile by myself just for fun.

| Race: |
Distance Challenge (0.497 Miles) 00:02:10 | | Distance Challenge today was pretty sick, Shout out to Davis for putting that on. I warmed up a mile with my friends racing the 1600 and then watched them kill it with connor, sean, and thomas coming in at 4:31, 4:32, and 4:33. It was insane. Then I cooled down with them for another 2 miles and got ready for my 800.
I ran in the 3rd heat which was right around where I'm at, but the pace was kind of slow the first lap. I was playing things a little bit conservatively and never made it up on the second lap. I finished very tired and felt like I had ran as hard as I could but I really wanted a 2:08. I don't know my official time, but it was somewhere around 2:10 or 2:11 and it looks like that's as good as it's going to get for indoor.
My 3200 was pretty hard and again I wasn't quite into it. It was less than a half hour after my 800 and I was noticeably fatigued. I basically just survived through it and ended at around 10:28. It was faster than my last one, but I really just need to have a meet where I can focus on the 2 mile and I think I can do much better than that. shout out to Sean for his third place 9:47 time and to Brock on his first ever two mile in around 11:20.
We have an intense week of training to look forward to and many more to come as I approach the huge PRs of outdoor. Indoor has been cool, but I'm ready to get things going for real now. Oh and shout out to me for seeing @Sarah! in real life today and congrats to all who had good races.

| | Easy distance today. I woke up late and had to run by myself for only 7.5 before going to kneaders for some dope as heck french toast with all my homies. It was amazing and I almost passed out from pure joy with the first bite. I PR'd and was able to eat 8 french toasts this time (for a grand total of around 4000 Calories not including the syrup, whipped cream, or strawberries) which is double the second place winner in my group of supposedly masculine friends. I was proud. Anyway, after much laying around and feeling fat, I was able to finish up 10 at night with an average pace of 6:57 for the whole thing.

| | Today we did some speed changes on the turf to work on form for a little bit before running 8 more miles of just distance. We went out past freedom elementary and kept the pace fairly slow and recovery-ish until the last three that were 6:20, 6:07, and 5:41 (average was 6:40ish). I don't even feel bad, shout out to Jamie if she's reading this. I was kind of sore but will ice tonight.

| | crazy hill workout today. Warmed up to the airport hill (a pretty frickin big one) and did nine 90 second "all-out" sprints up it. I kept a solid first or second place the whole time with my boy Ry-Ry Raff and we pushed it really hard. we did it in groups of three in a row with a half mile recovery loop in between. Afterwards, we just ran back to the school to finish up 10 miles. It was the most tired I've been in weeks after but definitely a good work out.
Shout out to my homies connor, thom, austin, and michael for going to conquer simplot tomorrow, and happy birthday to the latter two. Shout out to my role model Conner Mantz and good luck at World's!

| | Just over 8 miles with 10 one minute pick ups. It was a terrible run, my leg hurt and my shoes kept coming untied. I felt like I had kind of wasted a decent work out because I had to stop so many times. Basically it was just a weird distance run at a 6:57 average pace.

| | We had a speed workout today that I was unable to do because of leg pain. I might have pulled my groin a little bit. I ended up biking for 30 minutes in addition to three or four miles of running. I went ham on that bike though! side note: also feeling pretty sick so the odds aren't necessarily in my favor...

| | Easy low distance today, 8 miles with the team at a 6:49 average in the rain.
"Dream mile-and-a-half" tomorrow that I've gotta stay fresh for. It's basically a 1.5 mile race with a 300 ft elevation gain and a decent sized hill at the end. It's been a while since someone died so we're probably past due. Hopefully if I don't come back alive I at least get a decent time.
I'm pleased to announce that I have commited to run for BYU on a huge scholarship... Just kidding, although that would be pretty sick. On a side note I am going there though. Shout out to everyone else who got accepted on Friday.
I'm looking forward to some good things coming this month and am super pumped for outdoor. Shout out to Aubrey Argyle for following me on instagram and not twitter... jerk. JK d8 my boy connor.

| | AM: No school so I ran 4 easy miles (7:06) in the morning with Stewart and Sean before hitting up IHOP for free pancake day.
PM: 1 mile warm up followed by the 1.5 mile hill race that I mentioned yesterday. I lead the pack the whole way before connor wrecked me at the end. I finished in 8:59 which is around 20 seconds slower than my best, but considering the weather and a fair amount of pancake in my stomach it wasn't to shabby. I ran back to the school in 8:50ish and did another half mile cool down with Sami. Finished it off with 15 minutes of biking and some lifting (aka bench).
I signed up for the AF Half the other day so turn up on June 27th if you're trying to race me or something. Shout out to all of the poor juniors who had to take the ACT today.
Shout out to coach for getting a fast running blog!!!! hit her up @coachjamie.fastrunningblog.com

| | Speed workout today after a mile warm up. We had 5x500 meters at goal 800 meter pace. It was somewhat impossibly unrealistic but it pushed us to shoot for fast times even though we rarely hit them. My 400 splits for each one were 63, 64, 66, 65, and 68. I was way dead at the end and even though the tmes were closer to goal mile pace I still feel good about it. After that, we just finished up around 8 miles and watched the teachers get wrecked in our seniors vs teachers basketball game. More speed to come tomorrow and Saturday.

| | Me, connor, and brady ran a two mile warm up today before running another mile to the cemetary for whistle hills. we did 3x(15, 20, 25 seconds) all out up the hillwith no rest other than the run back down. It was much less than we've done in the past but I was able to push myself really hard and ended up fairly exhausted by the end. After that, I just ran about 4 more miles with Strrt, Sean, and Thom.
Shout out to Annie for taking me to Morp tonight! I still don't know quite what's going down but am ready to get hecka turnt and go ham at the dance.
More speed tomorrow...

| | Crazy workout this morning with the whole team. we did 20x400 meters in sets of five getting progressively faster. first five were around 78-80 seconds, 2nd set was 73-75, 3rd set were all in 70, and the last five were about 67. The last set was supposed to be goal mile pace and I was trying to hit 66 for a 4:24 but I was really tired and couldn't quite get it. After that I just ran two more miles at around a 7:00/mile pace and pounded some french toast with my boys.
Shout out to the Hinkleys and all the other parents who cooked us breakfast, and huge shout out to my brothers Darin and Tyler who got their mission calls yesterday. Hopefully I'll get mine next week. Happy national cereal day!

| | I ran six miles this morning with Strrt at a 7:20 average mile pace, keeping things slow and easy for our first meet tomorrow. Later we had to go to practice and do some strides and 200s and such = 3 more miles total. Also climbed a mountain with my GF kallie bunnel so that was cool. I'll be running the 800 and the 4x400 tomorrow. I don't really know what to expect from the 800 but hopefully I can PR even though it's just a dual meet; and the 4x400 is kind of just for fun. I'm looking forward to racing my first mile at Davis next week.
Shout out to my boy Conner Mantz for being super righteous and choosing to serve a mission even though he's fast as heck. Ghana will be sick.

Lehi vs Lone Peak (0.497 Miles) 00:02:09, Place overall: 6 | | First outdoor meet today!! It was just a dual meet and didn't really matter that much so there was no stress. I was hecka sore though and really didn't want to do anything other than watch, but I decided to do the 800 anyway. I was kind of in the back for the first lap, even though it was a 61 or 62. second lap everyone slowed way down so I passed a bunch of chumps on the outside. came in at a 2:09 and, although I am never satisfied, I was happy that I could PR with such low expectations. Shout out to @Adam_Jensen for beating me by half a second. and bigger shout out to my boy Sean for celebrating his first place with some quality time by the trash can.
I also ended up jogging the 3200 just for fun because there were only like 4 people running it. I'll call it a two mile tempo even though it was slower than tempo pace (11:51). Shout out to my boy Ry-ry for winning it in 10:12, he was our only varsity guy racing it. Did a 4x400 immediately after and went way slow, made up my miles somewhere in between.
Oh and, side note, I think I also got third or fourth in shot put as well...

Ran past the Jr. High again on our way back and got yelled at by more 12 year olds so that's always fun. Sean flipped them off though so it's all good. shout out to connor I guess because he's sitting next to me right now.

| | Ran the mile and 800 in the meet today but felt so terrible that I'll just call it a speed workout. my mile was like 4:57 or something (AKA around 2 mile pace). | | distance run today, ran over kind of by my house on the trail. most of it was fairly easy paced on account of our speed workout tomorrow but I was feeling good the last few miles and sped up a little bit. Splits were 6:17, 6:41, 6:45, 6:46, 7:01, 6:44, 6:31, 6:38, 6:28, and 5:55. Average pace was 6:36, Me and Strrt biked inside for 10 minutes after as well. I've been feeling really good the past few days, which is quite a contrast to how horrible I felt the last few weeks. I'm looking forward to running the 4x800 and the 3200 at Pine View this weekend and know I can get PRs in both.
Oh and shout out to my boy Roger Bannister on his like 86th birthday or something. Happy Birthday to Mo Farah as well, you guys are str8 inspirational.

| | Short speed work out during the meet today. Jamie wouldn't let people who were running at Pine View compete today so that we could stay fresh and what not. Me and my boy connor warmed up 3 miles and did 4x600 at our goal 2 mile pace for saturday. Mine were a little fast, but I did 72, 71, 72, 70, 71, and 70. I'm shooting for low 10:00s and possibly under 10 if I have a great race. (5.5 more miles post-workout)
Shout out to my hero Nathan Allen for being the only Lehi guy running the two mile today and for hitting his goal with a 11:17. ps he's a babe so hhu. Also shout out to Casey Clinger for dropping a 4:30 something second mile after warming up with a 4:57.

| | 10 Mo Miles today at a nice, easy distance pace. I think it was around a 6:53/mile average or something. we ran up to the temple in AF and looped back past the fish park and AF Jr High. We might do some pickups tomorrow just to get ready for Saturday, but will most likely drop it down a little in miles for the rest of the week. I'm getting pretty excited for my first two mile in a while, it should be sick!
Shout out to my uncle Jake for slaying his a capella concert today at BYU, and to Zayn something-or-other for breaking the hearts of white girls everywhere and giving 1D the double bird... my respect to both.

Thought maybe I could provide my loyal fans with a daily fun fact to keep them happy. Shout out to Garek for running a frickin 4:19 and to Holt for saying hi to me and connor. Shout out to Audun (dang fast wasatch sprinter/hurdler) for being basically the hottest babe I have ever seen in the entirity of my mortal existance.

| Race: |
Pine View Invitational (2 Miles) 00:10:09, Place overall: 21, Place in age division: 1 | | Started off today waking up at like 6:00, AKA too frickin early, to go run my two mile. Plus, I only got to eat oatmeal even though there was a bounteous continental breakfast to partake of. Anyway, I was in the second heat seeded 5th. However, I was allowed to still warm up with the upper-class first heat members like Connor, Sean, and Garek so that was kind of them. I warmed up two miles, did some drills, watched my boys kill it in their race, and then got my turn eventually.
I started off in around 5th place for the first lap before realizing that I was feeling a lot more capable than the other members of my heat, getting into first by lap 3. At this point, the coach of one of the guys I just passed yelled (referring to me), "He's holding you back, get out in front!" I found this fairly offensive and proceeded to destroy him in the next few laps so pursuit was no longer a feasible option to him. My first mile was 5:01 and my second was a 5:08. I ended up winning my heat by a decent margin and PRd by nearly 20 seconds.
The best part is that this occured with hardly any stomach pain, for the first time in living memory, thanks to an inspired Thom and his nasty ginger chew thingys. I know I can still improve a lot and I hope to get sub-10 next time, but I am thankful for this breakthrough.
Shout out to my boy connor for blazing a 9:38 and nearly qualifying for state. Also love to my homies Sarah and Garek for killing those 9 minute paced cool downs with us and to Garek for helping the squad check out Parowan babes. Huge shout out to all the bloggers at Pine View that I was able to see and talk to for putting on a sick meet. and p.s, Connor lost to Kaysha Love in an arm-wrestle so we'll be hitting the gym this week.

| | speed workout today. It wasn't too hard, but would've been a lot easier if I hadn't eaten a gigantic hamburger less than two hours before. we did 6x400m (2:30 rest inbetween, mile pace), easy 800, 4x200 (60 seconds rest, 800 pace). I went 68, 68, 68, 68, 68, 67, and 32, 31, 31, 29 for my times. which I was fairly happy with. I will be running the mile with my boy brady on friday at the Alpha invite. I don't really know what to expect but I'm shooting for 4:39. I slowly finished my miles alone at night when my stomach stopped hurting with a 7:31, 7:18, 7:00, 6:50, and 6:34 for my last five.
Fun fact of the day: If you had a perfectly symetrical standard, wooden pencil with a perfectly sharpened tip (one atom thick) it would be physically impossible to balance on its end even in perfect conditions. Meaning, even in a vacuum conainer at absolute zero in a stable environment, the pencil would still fall due to quantum field jiggling or something like that. Idk but my mind was blown.

| | Me, Connor, Thom, Sean, and Nathan went with all the JV kids on the bus to AF for the meet even though we weren't running. We just wanted to run back to Lehi from there so we went past Lone Peak for a total of 9 miles. We hit three different high schools in one run so I guess that's pretty sick. Average pace was a 6:51/mile and we only got called "faggots" by like three different cars so shout out to Lone Peak for their hospitality (sarcasm). Officially committed to do the mile at Alpha so I'd better ice tonight, me and Brady are gonna wreck.

Alpha Invite (0.994 Miles) 00:04:47 | | First time racing the mile for real in a long time. It was a decent race and technically a PR so I'll take it but I feel like I am in much better shape than that and will do a lot better next time. I was shooting for a 4:40 and was at 2:19 at the 800 so I was right on for the first half, after that though my hamstrings just got really tired and I couldn't quite keep my cadence up. I don't know, at least I officially qualified for BYU. After the race I had to leave to drive to Texas so I didn't get in very many miles. Shout out to Blake Bennion for winning my heat today!

| | Another low distance run today. I kept this pace somewhat easier today so I'll be fresh for a good speed workout tomorrow (like 6:40s). It was ridiculously hot this morning and I must have lost at least 5 pounds in water weight. I ran past the Sherman high school and successfully located their track so I'm in the clear. Shout out to the fish I just ate because it was delicious.

| | I woke up really late this morning on account of my watching Anne of Green Gables until 1:00 AM with my family... uughhh smh @ myself. Anyway, It was, yet again, already hot and my calves were so tight my achilles tendons could almost function like guitar strings. I warmed up the 3.25 miles to the high school and got in a good long stretch on the track. I did a 600, 500, 400, and 300 at goal mile pace followed by a 300, 200, and 100 at goal 800 pace. my times were 1:47, 1:29, 1:09, 50, 47, 32, and 14. all of these were a lot slower than I was hoping for, especially since the workout was so short, but it was really hard to stay on pace all by myself. Add my fatigue and lack of motivation to that and I suppose it wasn't too bad. After the workout I just ran back, coming in at just over 8 miles.
Fun fact of the day: Mansa Musa (some african emperor dude in like 1200-1300 AD) was the richest man to have ever lived and could have literally purchased most countries in the world today with his estimated 400+ billion dollars. I suppose that's slightly more money than I currently have in my wallet.

| | Tempo run this morning after a 1.5 mile warm up. I went 5:20, 6:20, and 5:18. I was supposed to have a slower one in between, but they all still should have been faster. It is really hard to keep a pace when I'm all by my self, but on the plus side, a 16:59 3 mile was faster than I ran at state this year in cross country. really goes to show how terribly most of my xc races went. After that I just finished with 4.5 slow miles, I think the heat makes me really sluggish so I'll try to wake up earlier tomorrow.
Shout out to Kallie Bunnell for being super hot. Also shout out to all my homies racing at Arcadia this weekend. good luck to you all!
Fun fact of the day: If you were to divide the exact length of a river by the straight line distance it covers, the ratio would be approximately pi. That is to say, the average of this ratio in all rivers in the world, mathematically speaking, should equal 3.14. Cool fact, still hate math though.

| | I LOVE ELEVATION!!! I felt so awful, sluggish, and tired all week at sea level but coming back up through Colorado Springs felt wonderful. I don't know what it is but I'm always happier with less oxygen for some reason, or maybe it was just the Texas humidity that killed me. Anyway, today was just a recovery low distance run so pretty easy, kept the pace around 6:50.
Shout out to my boy Connor for slaying his Arcadia 2 mile. He ran like a 9:27 so hit him up if you're a babe. Also shout out to my grandparents' wonderful hospitality and whatnot this week.

| | Hey this is the first time ever that I've actually trained over spring break so that's cool. Hill workout today. I was again by myself even though I'm back in good ol' Lehi. ran 2 miles to warm up over to killers hill before doing 2x(15, 20, 25) second uphill sprints and one set of 20, 25, and 30. It was pretty much all out and fairly continuous so I felt good with it. After that I just did 6 more miles at a slow pace to finish up.
Shout out to the 3000 miles I've driven over the past few days and to Smiths for sponsoring my bathroom break today. Also shout out to @Definition Dallen for getting a sick two mile PR.

After that, Team Pre ft. my boy Quinn rolled up to the 3 on 3 tournament and balled it up for 2 games #ComeAtMePaulRyan. shout out to Bady for killing it and scoring like 18 points. It felt pretty good and I was really tired at the end, plus they were all on or faster than pace. I wantted to take a picture of my watch when it said 1.00 miles and 3:59 but I had to keep going #ComeAtMeGrantFisher. Realistically though, I am shooting for a 2:05 for my 800 this Saturday.
Fun Fact of the Day: out of the 100-200 Billion humans that anthropologists estimate to have lived on this planet, it is also estimated that half of them have died from Malaria. Me, Connor, Brady, and strrt all jumped in the 4x100 relay and ran a 51.9, obviously we aren't sprinters because that's just like a pretty good 400 time. It was fun though. We then finished up our miles at a slow pace. PG was kind of wack, but I only got unnecessarily flipped off once. Shout out to those eggs I just ate because they were delicious. Fun fact of the day: I heard lots of sick facts today so first off I would like to inform you that the largest distributor of toys in the world is McDonalds. Ice bathed after at the Spring of Living Waters, it's back on now so that's dope. Shout out to Mama Hinckley for always killing that post-run snack game, she's seriously the best.
Fun Fact of the Day: I found out that Singapore means "Lion City" even though no indigenous Lions have ever existed there. Other misnomers: Peanuts aren't actually nuts but legumes, coconuts are actually drupes, kosher salt isn't really kosher, and Avogadro didn't really find Avogadro's constant (6.02x10^23) it was just named after him later. I went around the same speed for the second I think, which is faster than my goal mile pace, but it felt pretty good. After that, we just supported our homies at the JV meet, slayed hecka babes, downed a whole gallon of chocolate milk, and got turnt/sunburnt. Twas a good day. Fun Fact of the Day: Russia classified beer as food until 2013 so basically all of their "foodies" are just secretly alcoholics.

| | Short distance run today with pre-meet. The two 400s that I ran were in 68 and 67, tomorrow I'm shooting for 69s so it was a little fast. I didn't run today but nearly everyone that did was amazing to watch. Shout out to Brinn for qualifying for state in the 200 and almost making the 400. Shout out to my good friend Garek for slaying the 2 mile with a 9:22 or something, Also to my boy Conner Mantz for being the only one sub-9 with a 8:58. That 2 mile was just such a sick race to watch.
Fun Fact of the Day: NASCAR doesn't actually require participants to have a driver's license and the name "Jessica" was invented by William Shakespeare. Also, these facts have nothing to do with each other.

BYU Invitational (0.994 Miles) 00:04:42, Place overall: 67, Place in age division: 2 | | Finally got to the BYU invite today. I loved hanging out and racing here with such a stacked field and plentiful babes to get shut down by. My race was pretty good too, I wanted to go sub-4:40 but I still pr'd by a few seconds so I'll take it. I was in the back for the first lap and then passed people each lap after until I found myself in first place. I really love being in front, but some AF chump ended up passing me and I barely missed out on getting the tape and his 4:39. I guess I need to push just a little bit harder and hopefully I can drop another six seconds at region next week.
Huge shout out TO MY FRICKIN BOY CONNOR!!!! he ran a 4:23 (2nd fastest overall not including golden hour) aaaannndd qualified for state. Sean also killed it with a 7 second PR for a 4:24.8 and missed state qualifying by decimals, He'll get it at region though. Thom also ran a personal best so it was a good day for Lehi.
Other notable preformances include my homies Conner Mantz and Garek for going 4:12 and 4:13. Maybe not as good as conner was hoping for but I probably shed a few tears when he held off Josh Collins at the end for the win. Also Garek just keeps on cutting off time and it blows my mind how fast he is these days. That 4A mile at state this year is going to be ridiculous. One last shout out to my friend and teammate Dylan for re-breaking his own school record with a 1:55 800, He's insane.
Fun Fact of the Day: I'm sunburned as h*ck right now.

| | Got that taper game going strong today, only had 6 miles so that was crazy. We took turns pacing connor on his speed workout so I had 1x800 at 2:21 and then just some slow distance. I'll be running the mile and two mile on wednesday and thursday so that's pretty dope, gonna hit that 4:35 and 9:45. Feel free to judge me if I fail.
Fun Fact of the Day: Due to less available resources like paper and leather plus an increase in war-time piety, there was actually a serious Bible shortage in 1943. Also J is the only letter not on the periodic table.
